Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit VS. Cover FX Contour Kit

I bought the ABH Contour Kit in Light and immediately regretted it. First of all it's too dark for me in general. The highlighting colors don't do much for me and none of the contour colors work for me either. Now this could be my fault because I heard they're coming out with a Fair option later on. But I think even disregarding the fact the shades don't work for me I still don't like this palette. Also it's EXTREMELY warm toned. When it comes to contouring that's definitely not what you want. I think it almost makes me look dirty. The creams are also extremely thick and seem to move around my foundation when I try to blend it out and break it up which ends up looking terrible.

Now on the other hand I received a sample of the contour kit from Cover FX in one of my Sephora orders and after using it, I'm completely in love. The creams are so smooth and glide one effortlessly. The N60 contour shade is perfect for those as pale as I am. Have I mentioned I'm in love? The N20 highlight also works perfect for a triangular shape under my eyes without making me look too pale as other highlights have. It's definitely worth it to at least go to Sephora and have them try it on you! I'm sure you'll fall in love too. (I don't have pictures of this one since I only had a sample.)

I'd completely recommend the Cover FX one over the ABH one any day.

BH Cosmetics Glamorous Blush Palette Review

The BH Cosmetics Glamorous Blush Palette is currently $8 (BH Cosmetics products are constantly on sale for various percents off so this might change) and can be found here.

I got this product probably about two months ago and let me just tell you from the start that I am in LOVE! It has every blush color I could need and I have no problems with the formula at all. I'm not a major blush junkie because I feel like sometimes it can make my rosacea more apparent. But ever since getting this palette I really like wearing blush, particularly for the first two shades on top and the first two shades on the bottom. They're so neutral that I think they work perfect for me and don't bring out the redness of my rosacea at all!

Back to the formula, again I'm not a blush junkie. I don't know a ton about what makes a blush a good blush. But for $8 I would not say this is a cheap performing product at all. I guess one thing I could point out is there is a lot of kick up initially when you are putting your brush in the product so it's a bit powdery but if you just tap your brush before applying then that shouldn't be a problem.

So bottom line: Love it, you need it, get it.

Inexpensive Makeup Storage Ideas

I'm really a perfectionist when it comes to storing my makeup. I want everything to fit perfect and also look pretty at the same time. When I got my new vanity I found out quickly that makeup storage to put inside it can cost a lot. I think I've got it pretty much figured out after a few months though, so here are the things I've found that are nice looking, functional, and fairly inexpensive!

First up is this letter sorter from The Container Store. It's $7.99 and you can find it here but I got mine in store.

Isn't it cute? For reference I'd say the thickest palette it will hold is anything the size of the Urban Decay Electric Palette. It holds all my palettes perfectly and it's definitely the best way I've found to store palettes.

Next up is this lipstick holder from Amazon. It is $3.72 and you can find it here.

It can hold 24 lipsticks and fits ALMOST all lipsticks. I have one from The Lip Bar and it's bulky packaging just won't go in. It's just a standard lipstick holder but it's cheaper than most you can find at The Container Store or similar places. It's a cheaper and thinner plastic though so if that's something you don't like I believe The Container Store has one for around $8.

For brushes I have this carousel from Hobby Lobby. It was $14.99 and is no longer being sold online. BUT! Last time I was at Hobby Lobby about 2 weeks ago it was still there, so I have hope it's still being sold in stores at your local one too. It's part of the Lemonade Stand collection so if you see a sea of pink and yellow then you've found it!

It spins around and is the perfect height for almost all brushes. I keep all my shorter brushes in the same one so it's easier to find them, but out of my twenty-ish brushes only about three aren't the right height. The spinning makes it so easy to get to the brush I need. It really works out perfectly and if you're in the need of brush storage I suggest you go check out Hobby Lobby for one of these!

If you have a deep drawer then this next thing will work perfect for you to add a little extra storage. It's an expandable drawer organizer from The Container Store and I don't have a link to the exact one I found but this one is similar and it's $12.99. Mine was $7.99 actually so I would go to your local store and look in the office storage section for mine if you feel like spending a bit less.

It's an expandable drawer organizer meaning it will fit almost any size drawer. It slides back and forth so you can keep things underneath it and don't need to worry about not being able to get to them. Keep in mind the sections are pretty small. I find it's perfect for my face drawer to keep sample sizes and smaller items like concealer. Before I bought this my drawer was a mess so it's one of my new favorite organization items!

Okay last thing! Kinda. Well it's two things. But basically the same thing. You'll see.
These are acrylic drawers organizers, they range from $2.49 to $4.99 and you can find them here.

This one is $2.99 and it is the 3" x 6" x 2" one. It's perfect for eyeliners, lip liners, and mascara.

This one is slightly longer and it's $3.99 and is 3" x 9" x 2". I use it for blushes as you can see and I think it works perfect for that! Also powders, bronzers, highlighters would work as well.

Okay I think this post is already way too long and it's time to wrap it up! Hopefully I gave you some ideas on organizing your makeup and this is helpful to you in some way. Bye for now and hopefully I don't wait 2 months to write my next post!

Lit Cosmetics Glitter Review

Lit Cosmetics is having a promotion where if you buy a Lit Kit from Sephora or Sephora.com, they send you two extra glitters and a sparkle duster. Considering their glitters are $14 each and a Lit Kit is only $19.95, I figured this was a great deal! The Lit Kit includes 1 glitter in either Hello Sunshine or Afternoon Delight, a 0.14 oz Clearly Liquid Glitter Base, and a little itty bitty brush. So basically you buy the Lit Kit from Sephora and send Lit Cosmetics an email with proof of purchase and they let you pick one extra glitter and then they choose another for you. I believe everyone receives the Festive glitter as their extra. My extra glitters also came with a code for a free glitter with a purchase from litcosmetics.com!

Okay now that I told you about the deal it's time for a review!

Hello Sunshine size #2 - This is described as a porcelain glitter with hints of orange sun bursts. I think it's beautiful and is a very close second favorite of mine. I wore it all over my lid with some brown in my crease and I loved how it came out.

Magic Dragon size #3 - This is described as a dark green with a blue halo. It is my absolute favorite! It's just so gorgeous I really can't get over it. I really love the shift from green to blue. I wore this one as an "explosion" (as I like to call it) in my inner corner. I'm not sure if that makes sense but I love doing it with a ton of glitter and I'll definitely post a picture some time of what it looks like. I'd really like to try it out on my lid and see how it looks but I haven't gotten around to it yet!

Festive size #2 - This is described as having golds, cranberries, and pinks. I'm not sure how I feel about this one yet! It's pretty but not as pretty as the other two. I'll have to keep playing around with it for now. I don't have a close up because honestly I just couldn't take a good one of it. My fault though, not the glitter's!

One of my biggest problems with applying these was that the brush is so dang tiny it's hard to get even application on your entire eyelid. You need the tiny brush though so you can dip it inside the glitter base. So you have no choice but to use it! I think this might just be user error and I'm not skilled enough to apply glitter but I thought it was important to point out. BUT! Once I got it on my eyes it looked stunning. Glittery and dazzling and I can't even think of the adjectives right now.

Overall: I would highly suggest these glitters and checking out the Lit Cosmetics website. They have so many glitters, I KNOW you will find one you love!
